Photo Booth Placement and ROI

The booth was in the wrong corner for the first hour.

Recently we did a wedding for about 300 people. They us had us tucked near the exit, past the dessert table, which is where inexperienced planners usually want it. Out of the way. Not blocking flow.

Nobody used it.

We moved it fifteen feet, to the edge of the open bar line. People waiting for a drink had ninety seconds of nothing to do. That was the whole fix.

Here is what I have learned running these at weddings: the booth does not create the moment. It catches one that already exists. Cocktail hour, the gap before the dancing portion, the stretch after dinner when half the room is standing up. If you put it where people already have idle time and other people to talk to, it runs itself. If you put it somewhere quiet and polite, it sits there looking expensive.

Two things that matter more than the hardware:

One, an attendant who starts the first group. The first session is the hardest one. Everything after is momentum.

Two, delivery in under a minute. If a guest has the image on their phone before they sit back down, they post it from the room. That is the difference between a photo booth and a marketing asset.

The AI side is the fun part. It is not the part that decides whether the line forms.
